Kawal Wildlife Forest in Adilabad

Kawal Wildlife Sanctuary is situated amidst dense forests, which offers a perfect setting for wild animals and plants. Established in the year 1964, the sanctuary is famous for a wide range of species. Some of the wild animals and birds found here include tigers, panthers, the Indian bison, sloth bear, crocodiles, cobra, python, owls, eagles, peacocks and many more exotic fauna. It was notified as tiger reserve in April 2012. In this regard habitat development is undertaken with release of 150 cheetals as prey population.
